MESSIAH'S ORIGIN
Moses and the prophets describe the Messiah as having two natures. Moses was
told by God to write in Genesis 3:15: 15
 And I will put enmity Between you and
the woman,  And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.
God definitely planned for the promised one to be
born as a human being from the seed of those descended from Adam and Eve.

Later, God reveals to Abraham that he had been singled out from all other
nations, to continue carrying this promised seed. Only his descendants would
carry the 'seed of the promise' who would eventually crush the head of S
atanand
man's enemy; there was suffering involved since this enemy would bruise
Messiah's heel. (The Hebrew speaks in pictures.
The blow to the seed's heel is
describing a painful
blow to the heel would not be fatal, but the seed, Messiah,
would deal a fatal
, crushing  blow to Satan's head.)

This ancient announcement of God's plan to redeem fallen mankind started a war
between the Kingdom of God and the Prince of Darkness. Satan hates Israel with
a passion because God chose to use a small remnant within Israel to bring about
the redemption of all who put their faith in His Messiah. (There has always been a
faithful remnant of Israel before and after the coming and resurrection of Messiah.)

This seed was to be not only human but divine according to Isaiah 4:2. He would
be an offshoot, Tsemakh in Hebrew, from God. Isaiah wrote
In that day the Branch
of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious; And the fruit of the earth shall be
excellent and appealing For those of Israel who have escaped.
The Branch,
Tsemakh, is a portrait of a little sprig growing out from a major root. This seed
would be an offshoot of the Lord that took on flesh to become the Lamb of God.

God did not want Israel to have any doubts about the role of His Chosen One
when He moved Isaiah to write in chapter 53:2:
 For He shall grow up before Him
as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is
despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And
we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem
Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed
Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
Israel was not the one who would
decide the fate of the Messiah. It was God who set aside Jesus to become the
atonement for the sins of all people.

Zechariah also announces the Branch as the offshoot from God, in Zechariah 3:8-
9:
  ‘Hear, O Joshua, the high priest, You and your companions who sit before
you, For they are a wondrous sign; For behold, I am bringing forth My Servant the
BRANCH. 9    For behold, the stone That I have laid before Joshua: Upon the
stone are seven eyes. Behold, I will grave its inscription,’ Says the Lord of hosts,
‘And I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.

What wonderful news! This Branch would take away the sins of the land, the
world in one day. Now it would be possible for those, claiming this Branch as
their Messiah, to be free of any iniquity before the Holy One because all people of
faith would be covered with the righteousness of Messiah.

We Gentiles are so grateful to those Jewish Apostles and believers, who brought
the good news to us that God had provided a special Lamb, who would take
away the sins of the world. We owe a great debt to these 'first believers in
Messiah' who brought us the good news that brings us peace and joy.

Prayer:
Father God, I thank you for your mercy and grace. I rejoice knowing that
you loved all of us enough to send your word to take on flesh so we could have a
perfect sacrifice to pay for our sins. I come to you through Jesus, Y'shua, and
claim you as my God based on your promise to remove our iniquity from us
through the death of Jesus. Fill me with your Spirit Lord, and use me for your
purpose. Amen.
